A little peek at some things mid-process. Sometimes the studio is a mess…but still a pretty one! I love a bit of haphazard beauty.

Is there anything better than…
1-having an event go really well?
2-realizing how much support you have?
I think not!
A major thank you to everyone who came out to Michael C. Fina on Monday for the bridal launch party! We had an amazing time, the girls all looked beautiful, and I loved answering everyone’s questions during the Q and A and chatting with so many brides-to-be. Special thanks to…
…Cupcake Cafe for providing yummy treats.
(545 9th Avenue – also known as where you will find me every morning)
…to Christine Cherbonnier for makeup design and making these ladies look so lovely:
(By the way, nearly all the models were actual brides-to-be!)
…to Tacori for providing the bling for the models and for the giveaway! The ring below is my very favorite!
…and of course to Michael C. Fina for hosting at their beautiful store on Fifth Avenue and providing the platinum wedding bands for the giveaway as well!
A huge congratulations to Antonette Poli, the winner of our $10,000 wedding style package!

I’ve just returned from an amazing trip to Dubai (more on that later), but I wanted to share a few behind the scenes shots from last week’s photo shoot! It was a long day (imagine 22 changes…which means 22 hair and makeup touch ups and 1500 shots all told!), but we had a great team and a lot of fun.
By the way, don’t forget to register for the launch party Monday, April 12th! One lucky bride is going to win big – a Carol Hannah gown of her choice, his and hers platinum wedding bands, and fun jewelry from Tacori! Hurry- space is limited!
Happily Yours,
CH
Join me April 12 in NYC!
I am so excited to formally release my first official bridal collection in NYC with a fun launch event! This line has been years in the making, so thank you to everyone for all your love and support. Much more to come on the collection, so stay tuned…but for all those NYC brides out there, join me in celebrating at my launch party on Monday, April 12 from 6-8 pm.
My friends at Michael C. Fina have been gracious enough to let us host our celebration at their store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. One lucky bride will walk away with a $10,000 giveaway that includes a selection of one of my gowns, PLUS Michael C. Fina his/her platinum wedding bands PLUS Tacori jewels! We’ll be showing my collection and will also be doing a Q and A at 6:45, so don’t miss out!
Space is limited and the first 100 brides to register are automatically entered in the raffle. You never know who’ll show up!
Good luck and hope to see you there!
Happily (Ecstatically) Yours,
Carol Hannah

I recently had the pleasure of being featured by The Fashion Journal, which was a really fun experience. However, I did not expect to be personally featured on the cover and in quite a few other photos in the spread. I’m much more used to dressing and styling other people than being on that side of the camera!
Raise your hand if you like having your picture taken. Yeah, that’s what I thought. Even after being on camera so much for the show (which is different- believe me), I still get uncomfortable.
Our photographer, Carsten Fleck, was a blast! A true talent and a genuine human being. Check out his work at www.carstenfleck.com.
Here are a few behind the scenes shots from the day:
Makeup artist Shane Terenzi touches up Lauren for the next shot.
The Fashion Journal is also hosting a fashion week event on Tuesday and made me the guest of honor (yay!), so I’ll have more photos to share soon. In the meantime, check out the issue and the article at thefashionjournal.com.
A big thanks to the whole team!
Happily Yours,

One of the more frustrating things about design is the crazy number of things that I want to make at any given moment. Sometimes I feel like there are a thousand dresses rolling around in my brain and they are all fighting to get out at once. I can see them oh-so-clearly and am annoyed that they don’t magically appear in reality as fast as they float into my head.
Add to that situation the fact that I have spent the past six years making custom wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses, working as a bridal stylist in both Charleston and Manhattan, and scheming on my own bridal line, and then you can imagine how excited I am about my new Wedding Collection!
There are a lot of reasons why I love wedding gowns so much, the main one being that I think they so fully represent the transformative power inherent in fashion. This one dress takes an otherwise normal day and normal woman and turns her into a bride. There are not many things that make me happier than to see the look on one of my brides’ faces when they find that perfect dress or have their final fitting.
Yes, I suppose it sounds cheesy and trite, and yes, that may make me a romantic sap, but it is so true. I got into fashion because of that feeling that a great garment can give you…it should make you feel secure, beautiful, more yourself. I learned how to create gowns and dresses that do that from working directly with real women of all silhouettes who have all manner of insecurites (myself included), not from a school where you make everything in a “perfect” model size….and I am really looking forward to sharing the culmination of all those experiences with you!
The collection in its entirety won’t be finished until March, and I’m very excited to announce that I’ve been invited to debut it at Charleston Fashion Week on March 20th, 2010! That’s less than two months away! It’s so exciting to be able to take the line back home to where I started.
In the meantime, for the many of you that have inquired, I have set up a separate etsy shop with a small offering of bridal gowns and dresses for maids.
Check it out here:
