My fingers are bleeding.
In the past week I’ve made 11 new pieces, including two wedding gowns for the new bridal collection (!), multiple custom orders, and lots of Spring ‘10. Good heavens, that’s a lot. If there’s one thing I’ll say about Project Runway, it’s that it certainly raises your expectations of yourself and takes away most possible excuses you could come up with for not getting things done on time. You can’t complain that your task is unreasonable or think that whatever you’re facing is too difficult… because you’ve already done something just as hard. And probably using something weird…like cheese.

A little preview.
Anywho, I don’t know what it is about sewing, but I adore it. I know some designers look at sewing with disdain and bear it as a necessary evil, but there aren’t too many things that make me happier. I suppose it takes a certain type of person to get googley-eyed over french seams and perfectly set zippers, but count me among them….I am obsessed.
Fashion Week is nearly upon us! Though I’ve opted not to formally show this season, my deadline for finishing this collection approaches as well…which has led to 15 hour sewing days, a dirty house, and a tired Carol Hannah. Ohhh fashion…so glamorous! You won’t get to really see all of these pieces for a while, but I think it will be worth the wait!
Happily (and sleepily) Yours,
CH
CH… are you getting enough rest up there? Anyway… that’s is very pretty.
I hope fashion week was awesome…and that you got to sleep. If the whole collection is as pretty as the one ‘in-progress’ dress than I know it’s amazing!
Oh..my..GOD! that is stunning. love it!
can’t wait to see what else you create
